
Dermal Filler Aftercare Instructions
DO NOT apply any excess pressure or massage the treated areas for 2 weeks, UNLESS instructed to do so by your CV provider.
APPLY ice with a soft cloth barrier, if needed, for 20 minute sessions, up to 4 times a day.
USE tylenol, if needed, for discomfort, as directed on the bottle’s medication label. *Over the counter oral medications, such as arnica, and antihistamines, such as zyrtec, claritin, or benadryl, can also be used, as directed on their bottle’s label, to improve your healing timeline.
REMEMBER there is always a small risk for bruising with any injections. Although rare, if you experience bruising, it should fade within approximately 3 days. *Please contact your CV provider if you experience extensive bruising, as there are options that might be able to help.
FOR LIP FILLER: Only if you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex), CONTINUE your prescribed antiviral prophylaxis (Valtrex or Acyclovir) for the next 3 days after your lip filler treatment.
DO NOT have any dentist appointments for 2 weeks before or after your filler treatment. *If you have a dental emergency within the 2 weeks after your dermal filler treatment, please notify your CV provider.
DO NOT receive any vaccines within 2 weeks before or after your filler treatment.
AVOID:
makeup for 12 hours.
ibuprofen & aspirin for 24 hours.
alcohol & spicy or salty food for 24 hours.
nicotine for 24 hours.
hot & sweaty activities for 24 hours.
hot tubs & saunas for 24 hours.
ALWAYS drink plenty of water to stay well hydrated after your treatment.
ALWAYS reach out to your CV provider if you experience abnormal healing such as prolonged swelling, excessive bruising, discoloration of skin, and/or pain.
