Microblading Aftercare Instructions

RISKS: Although very rare, there is a risk of infection. The areas treated must be kept clean, especially for the first 3 days. Only freshly washed hands should touch your treated areas. If you suspect an infection after your microblading treatment, please seek medical attention, and inform your CV Brow Artist.

MICROBLADING AFTERCARE TIMELINE

Days 0-1…

For the 1st hour directly after your treatment, blot every 5 minutes with a clean cotton pad to absorb any excess fluid that is present.

That night, gently rinse brows clean with dial soap, blot to dry thoroughly, and gently apply a thin layer of balm. Repeat this entire process every 2 hours when awake. *DO NOT SCRUB. Apply brow patches at bedtime for protection, as instructed by your CV Brow artist.

For the morning after your treatment, delicately wash your brows with dial soap. Blot dry with a clean cotton pad. Once fully dry, apply a very thin layer of aftercare balm or aquaphor. Be sure to use your balm sparingly as your skin needs to help heal itself. This is the only barrier product that should touch your brows during healing.

Days 2-7…

On day 2, stop rinsing on a schedule. Only rinse like you did on day 1 if your brows feel oily or if there is leftover balm from previous applications. If so, then follow the same process as you did for each rinse on day 1.

If your brows are feeling tight or uncomfortable, then you can apply a thin layer of balm 2X/day. *Be sure to avoid direct contact from the shower-head’s water pressure, instead, use a sink to wash your face until healing is complete.

Days 8-14…

It is normal to experience itching and flaking. This will subside gradually. DO NOT scratch, wipe, or rub the flakes! You can gently touch a warm water soaked cotton ball to the area for relief 2X/day. *Complete healing can take up to 8 weeks, but it is highly dependent on your skin’s rate of regeneration.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

REMEMBER your CV brow artist will go over your specific timeline for follow up based upon your personal needs. *Please reach out if you do not have that individualized information or your next appointment already scheduled.

CAREFULLY READ THE AFTERCARE TIMELINE ABOVE for guidance. Follow these aftercare instructions each day. Your final results depend heavily on your adherence to proper aftercare steps. Please reach out to your CV Brow Artist if you have any questions.

MOISTURIZE BEYOND 2 WEEKS! Your eyebrows will require continued moisturizing, even once the flaking stops. Keeping the pigmented skin moist will help with color retention and prevent further itching.

REMEMBER your new eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. It is important to let your body heal and to not fixate on your new brow results prematurely.

DO NOT be alarmed during peeling. Your brows might appear lighter than expected and that the color is flaking off. This is the superficial pigment and is a normal part of the healing process. Your brows will appear lighter until the color clarifies. The entire healing process can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks, depending on your body!

NO SWEATING! The salt within your sweat can remove your pigment during this time! No exceptions.

NO BROW MAKEUP applications on your new brows until peeling is finished. No exceptions.

NO steamy showers, tanning beds, or swimming. No exceptions.

AVOID sleeping on your stomach and sides during immediate healing.

AVOID the use of any products containing retinol, glycolic acid, anti-aging and anti-acne ingredients to improve the longevity of your new eyebrows.

NO ITCHING OR PICKING! Tap them, don’t scratch them! If you interrupt the pigment, you can create scarring and loss of brow color.

ALWAYS wear sunblock and a hat during sun exposure. The sun will fade your pigmented areas and the result is an undesired shade.

DO NOT stop your aftercare in the middle of your healing process. Even with proper care, clients may lose original hair strokes. It is normal to heal unevenly and this is why every client requires, at minimum, 2 brow sessions!
